Gary is a qualified mindfulness teacher, supervisor and mentor, and has taught mindfulness for over ten years. He completed his teacher training with the University of Bangor and the Oxford Mindfulness Centre. He follows the Good Practice Guidelines for teaching mindfulness-based courses as laid out by the UK Network for Mindfulness Teachers.
His main teaching interests are mindfulness for people affected by cancer, and mindfulness for health professionals. Since 2013, he has taught eight-week courses at Paul’s Cancer Support Centre in London and is currently teaching his tenth course there. He also teaches at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
Gary has been practicing meditation for over 30 years and has also completed the Community Dharma Leadership training through Gaia House. He is passionate about bringing mindfulness to the general population and has also taught the MBCT for Life programme to people living with cancer. Previously, he spent over 30 years in the corporate sector and was the founder of the first European Mindfulness and Meditation Group at Oracle.
